The president of the Airline Professionals Association, Teamsters Local 1224, Captain Daniel C. Wells, released the following statement regarding the Miami Air International Flight 293 incident Friday evening in Jacksonville. Teamsters Local 1224 represents pilots at the airline.

“Our union family thanks the first responders and Jacksonville community for springing into action to quickly and safely rescue the passengers and crew members of Miami Air International Flight 293. We are deeply grateful that everyone is accounted for and offer our full union support and resources to the passengers, crew members and their families.”

“Union officials are on the ground in Jacksonville to assist the National Transportation Safety Board in every way possible in their investigation.”

The Airline Professionals Association, Teamsters Local Union No. 1224 represents pilots and flight crewmembers from ten airlines operating across the country: ABX Air, Allegiant Air, Atlas Air, Cape Air, Horizon Air Industries Inc., Kalitta Charters II, Miami Air International, Omni Air International, Silver Airways and Southern Air.
