Strike: Scandinavian Airlines SAS about to refuse 70,000+ passengers

More than 70,000 passengers may get stranded today flying through, from or to airports in Scandinavia. This is a social media post by SAS CEO Rickard Gustafson.  “Despite intensive negotiations and a determination to avoid conflict, we have regrettably been unsuccessful. The pilots´ unions have today decided to go on strike.” Flights by codeshare partners are not affected.

Scandinavian Airlines, usually known as SAS, is the flag carrier of Sweden, Norway and Denmark, which together form mainland Scandinavia. SAS is an abbreviation of the company’s full name, Scandinavian Airlines System or legally Scandinavian Airlines System Denmark-Norway-Sweden.

Information on the SAS website says:

We’re sorry if you’re affected by the ongoing pilot strike by the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish pilot unions that have led to delays and canceled flights. We’re doing everything we can to help everyone.

SAS is striving to reach a solution as quickly as possible to prevent additional inconveniences for travelers.

Before traveling to the airport, please check your flight status. For up to date information about the traffic situation, please visit our website.
