The Caribbean is packed full of luxury honeymoon destinations, but the Cayman Islands tick a lot of boxes for many couples. The three beautiful Cayman Islands – Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac – offer miles of unspoiled beaches, luxury Cayman villas, world-class diving, and plenty of peace and quiet. You deserve a restful break after your hectic wedding planning, so in this guide, we are going to explore why the Cayman Islands should top your list of honeymoon destinations.

Which Island?

Deciding which island to visit for your honeymoon definitely falls into the โ€˜first world problemโ€™ category. In truth, though, it is quite a difficult decision, as each island has something different to offer.

  • Grand Cayman is the largest island of the three. This is where most of the big-name luxury hotel chains are located, as well as some very luxurious villas. The Owen Roberts International Airport is on Grand Cayman, not far from the islandโ€™s capital, Georgetown.
  • Little Cayman is the most private and peaceful of the three islands. If you want to kick back and spend some time getting to know your new spouse, Little Cayman is a perfect choice. Many of the beaches are uninhabited and very private, so you can enjoy some โ€˜alone timeโ€™ without fear of other holidaymakers stumbling into your cozy little love nest. There are many spectacular dive sites around Little Cayman, including the Bloody Wall.
  • Cayman Brac is the second largest island. It too has an international airport: Charles Kirkconnell International Airport. The rugged coastline of Cayman Brac is very picturesque and will likely appeal to artistic types who enjoy painting and photography. You can explore caves, shipwrecks, and other scenic trails during your honeymoon. Doesnโ€™t that sound romantic?

Booking Accommodation

Once you have decided which island you want to visit, the next step is to decide on your accommodation. Many honeymooners donโ€™t look beyond the big-name resort hotels, but this is a mistake. Resort hotels have plenty to offer, but unless you can afford to book the penthouse suite, you wonโ€™t have tons of space.

Luxury villas are a great alternative to a resort hotel. Instead of sharing your honeymoon with hundreds of other people, you can enjoy some privacy. You are free to cook your own meals or hire a private chef, youโ€™ll have a lot more space to relax, and you can swim in your own private pool. If you are taking kids on your honeymoon, a luxury Cayman villa also provides security that a resort doesnโ€™t.

Romantic Honeymoon Activities

As much as you probably want to spend your honeymoon relaxing, it is fun to plan a few romantic activities. Take a boat trip and visit the other islands. Swim with turtles and visit Stingray City. There is so much to see and do in the Cayman Islands that you will be spoiled for choice.

Honeymoon in the Cayman Islands and you can look forward to making some amazing memories and taking wonderful photos, without dealing with crowds and lines.
