Hurricane Lane is weakening and is currently down to a category 1 with winds of 85 mph and gusts up to 105 mph.

In the latest update in the Aloha State, it was announced that Hurricane Lane is weakening and is currently down to a category 1 with winds of 85 mph and gusts up to 105 mph.

Lane finally took a jog, but not in the direction hoped for.

It jogged to the NNE which means it is heading closer to the Hawaiian islands, at a speed of 2 mph.

The hurricane is, however, expected to turn to the southwest tomorrow, Saturday, with winds becoming disorganized and weakening at a rapid pace over the next 2 days. So much so that it is anticipated that the hurricane may be downgraded to a tropical storm.

Although it isn’t over yet, it is a good sign for Hawaii, as the Aloha State is still bracing for potential heavy rains.
