Encourage clients to book their Cook Islands’ holidays well in advance. That’s a key message from Cook Islands Tourism as it gears up for the destination’s biggest travel trade event in Auckland for more than two years.

Encourage clients to book their Cook Islands’ holidays well in advance. That’s a key message from Cook Islands Tourism as it gears up for the destination’s biggest travel trade event in Auckland for more than two years.

Rachel Mackey, marketing manager New Zealand with the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, says the organisation is attempting to educate consumers on the need to book early. ‘Our message to the consumer is that if they want to get the accommodation they want, for the dates they want, and the price they are willing to pay, then bookings should be at least six months in advance. For school holiday periods, 12 months in advance is recommended.’

The Love a Little Raro and Aitutaki – Travel Agent update is being held at Hilton Auckland on 29 August from 6pm. It will be preceded by a special event for incentive and event organisers.  Among the exhibitors will be the new Moana Sands Lagoon Resort on Rarotonga. The new resort has 24 rooms (22 deluxe lagoon studios and two lagoon suites) located in a two storey beach front complex, all with lagoon views and a patio or balcony.

The centrepiece of the resort is a large salt water swimming pool, complete with sun lounging deck and a swim up pool bar.
