HONOLULU, HI – Recognizing its service excellence to groups doing business in Hawaii for meetings and incentive events, the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) has earned awards from two top-industry publications, Meetings & Conventions and Incentive.

Michael Murray, CMP, CMM, CASE, vice president of sales and marketing for HVCB’s corporate meetings and incentives division, said the two awards are particularly rewarding as they were determined by a poll of the magazines’ subscribers.

“These national honors reflect the collaborative efforts that HVCB and its island chapter bureaus and industry partners have taken to help planners and groups create a successful business meeting experience,” said Murray.

“We are constantly striving to nurture the deep client relationships we’ve established over the years, while also developing new partnerships for business development and group bookings,” Murray said. “Industry decision-makers appreciate that we are constantly looking at new ways to enhance our services and fulfill their objectives, especially now during such a challenging economic period.”

Meetings & Conventions magazine honored HVCB with its 2009 Gold Service Award for the 20th consecutive year, an impressive streak that reflects the enduring commitment of the bureau and its industry partners to provide exceptional service to meeting planners and their clients when holding business events in Hawaii.

Criteria for earning the Gold Service Award include: professionalism of staff, support on hotels and site inspections, assistance with ground transportation planning, guidance on local attractions, and liaison with local vendors and services.

Incentive magazine presented HVCB with its 2009 Platinum Partner Award for the fifth straight year, acknowledging both Hawaii’s motivational appeal as a destination, as well as the ability of HVCB and Hawaii’s meetings industry to creatively provide products and services that motivate employees and customers.
