Good news for Chiang Mai

Air Mandalay will resume flights betwen Yangon and Chiang Mai, starting on August 2, 2009. The flights will be operated every Monday and Friday with the following schedule:

Air Mandalay will resume flights betwen Yangon and Chiang Mai, starting on August 2, 2009. The flights will be operated every Monday and Friday with the following schedule:

Yangon – Chiang Mai 16.30
Chiang Mai – Yangon 18.55

Tourists can use this service to Myanmar, which is also called the Golden Land. Popular sightseeing destinations are Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda in Mon State, Bago, Mount Popa, Bagan, the first royal capital of Myanmar, and Manadalay, the cultural heart of the country.

From Mandalay, you can easily travel to Mingun, Sagaing, and Innwa to explore the long history of Myanmar.

Other destinations will be Pyin-Oo-Lwin, Pindaya, Kalaw, Inle Lake and Taunggyi in Shan State. Also, Putao and Myitkyina in Kachin State are worth a visit – same as Mrauk U in Rakhine State.

Beaches are waiting to get explored in Ngapali (Rakhine State), Ngwe Saung and Chaungtha near Yangon.

The best time to travel is in the cold season of October to February. March to May is very hot same in Thailand.
