Orbitz Worldwide Announces the Appointment of Tamer Tamar as President, ebookers

Orbitz Worldwide, Inc. announced today the appointment of Tamer Tamar as president, ebookers, effective July 30, 2009. Previously, Tamer was vice president of Europe and Middle East (EMEA) distribution for Expedia. Tamer will replace Alan Josephs, who is resigning his position within the company to pursue another professional opportunity. Alan will remain with the company through July to ensure a smooth transition.

Tamer joined Expedia in 2004, serving in a variety of roles including managing Expedia’s EMEA car businesses, leading Expedia’s strategy and corporate development function for the EMEA region, and heading up the Expedia UK business. Prior to joining Expedia, Tamer worked at as a management consultant for Monitor Company and A.T. Kearney. Tamer holds an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and a BA in mathematics and economics from Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, PA.
