AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., today launched daily nonstop flights from Branson Airport in Branson, Missouri, the first privately-financed and commercially-operated airport in the United States, to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with the help of legendary singer Lee Greenwood. During the event, Greenwood celebrated the new service by wowing the crowd with his hit song, “God Bless the USA.”
