Tourists enjoy day’s festivities

Thousands of tourists packed Dublin as the St Patrick’s festivities continued in advance of Monday’s mammoth parade.

While ominous grey skies hung over the city for most of the day, Met Eireann is forecasting bright and dry conditions for Monday, when tens of thousands are expected to pour into the capital for the two-hour St Patrick’s Day parade.

An estimated 2,250 flights were to arrive and depart Dublin airport while management at Cork Airport have predicted 100,000 passengers will come and go over the next 10 days.
