ICTP International Coalition of Tourism Partners and SUNx president: GLobal warming is real and travel and tourism must resist US Climate Policy and support Paris agreement.

<

Professor Geoffrey Lipman, Co-founder of SUNx (Strong Universal Network), President of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners and a former leader in IATA, WTTC, and UNWTO, called on the Travel and Tourism sector to stand up to the Trump Administration on Climate Change.

Speaking at the World Travel Market in London, Lipman said โ€œAs COP23 is underway in Bonn, we as an industry need to stand up and be counted. Climate is an eXistential issue and the US is potentially sabotaging the universally agreed Paris Accord and itโ€™s 3-decade roadmap for global climate resilience. The only country in the world to do so.

He added that โ€œThere is no scientific reason for the US leaving the community of nations on this issue. Itโ€™s just self-focused, raw politics, polluter denial and a belief that if you are big enough you can call the shots.โ€

Lipman said โ€œItโ€™s playing life and death roulette with our grandkids and we should just shout NOโ€
