Emergency declared in Clark County, Nevada


Clark County in Las Vegas, Nevada just declared an emergency as a result of a mass casualty event.

The emergency declaration finds global events have shown that large gatherings of people attractive targets to terrorists and others who wish to cause physical and economic harm to the community.

A potential threat exists to the health, life, safety, and welfare of persons and property.

County manager Yolanda King signs the declaration concluding that under the provisions of the Nevada Revised Statues Chapter 414 and ClarkCounty Code Chapter 304 within the COunty of Clark, the potential for a state of emergency does exist in the County of Clark
