The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau went home with four wins during last night’s Flagler Awards ceremony at the 50th annual Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism, which was held at the newly transformed Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida. The Flagler Awards are the most recent received in a year of accolades recognizing the CVB’s creative and strategic marketing initiatives.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau was honored to receive two Gold “Henry” Awards for Hello Sunny TV in the Resource/Promotional Material category as well as for Best of Show, which was also awarded to Florida Aquarium and Space Florida. The GFLCVB was also presented with a Silver Award in the Creativity in Public Relations category for Lauderdale Luxe, a New York City consumer activation, and a Bronze Award in the Mixed Media category for Riptide Music Festival.

“The Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB is incredibly proud of all its accomplishments this past year and it is a true honor to be recognized by our peers for the many exciting marketing and public relations initiatives that we worked hard to implement,” said Stacy Ritter, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Conventions & Visitors Bureau. “From debuting the Hello Sunny TV network to launching the world’s first marketing campaign featuring transgender models, the milestones the GFLCVB has achieved would not have been possible without the amazing teams I get to work with every single day!”

Presented by VISIT FLORIDA®, the state’s tourism marketing corporation, the Flagler Awards program recognizes the exceptional tourism marketing efforts of Florida’s travel businesses, destinations and attractions and acknowledges outstanding achievement in promoting and marketing tourism in the state. The awards, nicknamed “Henrys,” salute Henry Flagler, the late 19th- and early 20th-century railroad and hotel magnate whom many people consider the grandfather of Florida’s tourism industry.

Since 2008, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau has received a total of 38 Henrys for excellence in marketing and communications.
