Dave Montrose, senior vice president operations with White Lodging, a hotel ownership, development and management company, has joined the Penn State School of Hospitality Management (SHM) Industry Advisory Board.

โ€œThroughout my career, Iโ€™ve found my proudest moments center around seeing the success and growth of our associates,โ€ Montrose said. โ€œFor many of our managers, this success is predicated from the strong foundation they receive while earning their degrees. Iโ€™m honored to be selected to be on the advisory board that will help determine the growth and development of hospitality students at Penn State.โ€

Montrose has nearly 30 years of hospitality experience. Previously, he was the senior regional vice president of operations for White Lodging, where he was responsible for maximizing operational results for 50 select service assets. He also spent four years as regional vice president of operations. Montrose led the openings of several high profile urban hotels in the Nashville, Houston and Denver markets.

โ€œDaveโ€™s history with select service operations has particular resonance today as our generation of students is witnessing the explosion of brands in this segment,โ€ said Donna Quadri-Felitti, Marvin Ashner Director of the Penn State School of Hospitality Management.

The board invites industry experts to strategically advise SHM on industry trends and guide students who are studying hospitality management. The members are leaders in the field, including vice presidents and senior vice presidents of large companies and executive vice presidents, chief operating officers and CEOโ€™s of smaller companies.

โ€œDaveโ€™s ability to articulate how talent development leads to hospitality value is exceptional. He sees the trends and challenges of our industry and is able to express how education and associate development can meet those needs,โ€ Quadri-Felitti said.

Montrose is a graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in restaurant, hotel, institutional and tourism Management. He currently holds or has held board positions on the Indiana Hotel and Lodging Association as well as several academic advisory committees.

White Lodging Services Corporation was established in 1985 and is headquartered in Merrillville, Indiana. White Lodging is a fully integrated hotel ownership, development and operations company focused on developing and operating premium-branded hotels in growing urban and select suburban markets across the United States. White Lodging has developed over 125 premium branded hotels over the last 25 years and its current managed portfolio consists of 165 hotels in 19 states including representation of the industryโ€™s leading brands.
