A second independent possible terror attack is unfolding in Cambrils, Spain. Catalan police say they have killed four perpetrators and injured one during a shootout in Cambrils, 100km from Barcelona, to prevent what they say was a second terror attack.
Cambrils is a coastal town in the comarca of Baix Camp, province of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. The town is nearby the tourist town, Salou and is frequently visited by those traveling by air using Reus Airport and major transport links such as the Bus Plana and the RENFE.
The regional police for the Catalonia region said on Twitter early Friday:“We are working under the assumption that the events in Cambrils are related to a terrorist attack. We have brought down those allegedly responsible.”
Catalan police told US broadcaster CNN that the alleged terrorists have been neutralized, but refused to confirm their deaths.
