The second edition of Global Panorama Showcase (GPS) opened today, July 20, in Chandigarh at The LaLiT. GPS is a business networking event and business-to-business (b2b) travel and tourism trade show that is held annually in Nagpur.

Mr. Anoop Tewari, Regional Head North and East india, Interglobe Technology Quotient, spoke about the recently-launched Travel Port Smartpoint which gives access to 650,000 hotels; 35,000 car rental companies; and 400 airlines to the travel agents.

Mr. Abdul Hadi Sheikh, CEO of Fxkart.com, introduced to the travel fraternity a digital remittance platform which will make any transaction hassle-free, transparent, and timely. A Goods and Services Tax (GST) session took place with a full house, clarifying queries from travel agents regarding the recently-announced GST law and its implication on travel industry partners.

Other presentations were given by Genting Hong Kong and Spain Tourism.

GPS India kickstarted in Ahmedabad and will also be held in Kolkata, Kochi, Pune, and Nagpur. The b2b sessions in Chandigarh will be attended by about 200 travel agents from Punjab, and 86 exhibitors will showcase products in the next 2 days.
