“I am delighted to be working with a great brand like Radisson Blu,” commented Marnie Delaney-Parker, who was appointed as the New Director of Sales and Marketing at the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront in Cape Town. “There are lots of very positive things happening in tourism in South Africa and Cape Town at present.”

Previously with the Cape Grace and Sun International, Marnie has over 20 years’ experience in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Her work with Anantara Hotels and Resorts in Thailand saw the group double its portfolio over a four-year period. Whilst based in the UK she specialized in sales and marketing with hotel groups in Italy and Croatia, focusing on all market segments.

Since arriving in Cape Town three and a half years ago, she has witnessed a filling out of the traditional ‘quiet season’ of winter, which has been the bugbear of city tourism bodies and operators.

“I see Cape Town developing strongly as a year-round destination. It’s got the weather proof attractions of great food and drink venues, fantastic scenery and wonderful winelands destinations to visit – all within a couple of hours drive.”

Debra Sivertsen, General Manager at Radisson Blu Waterfront, welcomed Marnie saying “Marnie is a great addition to our dynamic team. Her international and local experience will assist us in maintaining our position as one of the most successful hotels in Cape Town.”

When Marnie has time off she enjoys the scenic attractions of Noordhoek with her husband and 9-year-old twin boys. “The boys love the outdoor life and sports in Cape Town. And I’ve taken up golf, but I’m not sure if my handicap is anything to boast about!”
