Seychelles’ annual Benelux roadshow going from strength to strength

The Seychelles Tourism Board affirms that the island destination remains a firm favorite among travel professionals in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg.

This was clearly depicted in the successful turnout of travel agents who took part in another fruitful edition of Escapades Benelux.

The 7th edition of the Seychelles roadshow dedicated to the Benelux market was held from 6th to 9th June, 2017.

Airline and hotel partners joined the Seychelles Tourism Board to promote Seychelles and selected products across the cities of Ghent, Rotterdam and Luxemburg. The three cities were strategically chosen by the Seychelles Tourism Board office in France.

The “train and dine” format chosen for the events proved to be a popular setup among the attendees — both the faithful and potential partners.

Seychelles’ 13-strong delegation at the Escapades Benelux 2017 was led by the island nation’s Tourism Board Regional Director for Europe Mrs. Bernadette Willemin, who is based in France. She was accompanied by Senior Marketing Executive at the Paris office Ms. Christine Vel.

The various airline and hotel partners represented were: Air Seychelles – Maryline Gallois and Victor Von Schweinitz; Etihad Airways – Veerle Symoens & Dimitra Tsaoussi; Qatar Airways – Isle de Smet & Yvonne Damhoff-Alblas; Banyan Tree Seychelles – Laure De Dreux-Brezé; Constance Hotels Experience – Laetitia Martin; Enchanted Island – Clairemonde Coquet; Hilton Seychelles – Devi Pentamah and Maia Luxury resort and Spa & Paradise Sun – Danie Davids.

The attendance of travel agents was enhanced thanks to the presence and support of various Belgian and Dutch tour operators and their representatives.

Escapades Benelux is the annual dedicated roadshow organized by Seychelles Tourism Board for the Benelux market, similar to Escapades Seychelles, held in France over the last 14 years.

Mrs Willemin has attributed growing success of the event to the continuous support and efforts of the faithful trade partners.

“This strong partnership between the local partners and the Seychelles Tourism Board office in France has contributed to the overall awareness of the destination and for the past few years we have seen an increase in figures to the Seychelles from those three countries – Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg,” said Mrs Willemin.

Rendezvous for the next Escapades Benelux is set for the 4th to 8th June 2018. In the meantime, the Seychelles Tourism Board in France continues to expand its geographical footprint further into the Benelux countries and stimulating greater focus on the destination,  through various activities planned for the rest of 2017.
