New plans by Visionsapartments  for Zug and Zurich Airport in Switzerland for service apartments were announced today. The projects under development are progressing according to schedule, and this year’s opening dates have now been set for three new premises in Vevey, Lausanne St. Sulpice and Frankfurt. In addition to this, the international network of serviced apartment partnerships continues to grow, and currently features over 100 select partner brands in over 60 countries and 120 cities worldwide. Now, visionapartments.com offers a total of 20,000 professional business apartments across the globe.

VISIONAPARTMENTS in Zug by the end of the year

The serviced apartment specialist is taking over a hotel in Zug’s city centre. The City of Zug has already granted the permit for the planned renovation. The refurbishment will start this summer and take several months, so that the first apartments can be rented by the end of the year at the latest. Fully developed, the 54 fully-equipped VISIONAPARTMENTS will be available for medium to long-term stays.

“With its national and international companies, Zug is a perfect destination for our business,” explains Bastiaan Don, Group Head of Development & IT at VISIONAPARTMENTS. “We are delighted with this first step in central Switzerland and are on the lookout for further opportunities in the region.”

Site at Zurich Airport purchased – Intermediate use for existing factory building sought

VISIONAPARTMENTS recently purchased a plot close to Zurich-Airport. On completion in 2019, it will be a modern serviced apartment building with over 300 residential units in an ideal location near Zurich Airport. As the planning and development phase will take some time, the empty factory building on the site is available for intermediate use: “We are open for creative suggestions, like pop-ups or similar projects, for the factory space of roughly 800 square meters”, explains Bastiaan Don.

No less than four openings in autumn 2017

Besides Zug, three more openings are planned for this year: In September, the first tenants will be welcomed both in Frankfurt (130 units) and in Vevey (100 units). Two month later, the doors in Lausanne St. Sulpice (60 units) will open, further expanding the presence in Lausanne. The projects in Vienna (90 units, opening in 2018) and Basel (123 units, opening in 2019) are also on schedule.

“We are delighted with the continuous growth and proud that we will succeed in doubling our own portfolio by 2018 as announced last year”, says Anja Graf, CEO of VISIONAPARTMENTS. “In future, we will continue to pursue a strong expansion strategy and are constantly assessing new projects, especially in the German-speaking and Anglo-Saxon regions.”

LIVINGHOTEL: New concept in Vevey and Vienna

The projects in Vevey (Hôtel de Famille) and Vienna (Hotel Tabor) are both former hotel buildings. Accordingly, the in-house planners and architects are striving to find an attractive balance of hotel and serviced apartment facilities. The shared kitchens will be a highlight of the new LIVINGHOTEL concept – large public areas where tenants can meet to cook and eat together. Unlike previous VISIONAPARTMENTS, in those buildings a kitchen will no longer be fitted in the residential units.

“In recent years, we have had a very positive experience with public areas such as VIP lounges or fitness and spa facilities in our premises. Tenants really appreciate meeting places like this and love getting to know like-minded people”, explains Anja Graf. “In the sharing economy area, we are thinking about concepts like this all the time and are certain that our shared kitchens will be another fascinating feature.”

Growing network of select international partner companies worldwide

Thanks to its global network of select serviced apartment companies, VISIONAPARTMENTS can now offer professionally-run business apartments in every major city worldwide in addition to its own range of buildings. Over 100 partner brands, with 18,000 serviced apartments in over 120 cities and more than 60 countries have joined the network to date.

“We focused on building an international network of partner companies quickly in 2016, and are now in the process of optimising this network”, explains Moussa Samake, Group Head of Sales with responsibility for the serviced apartment partnerships. “We are relying on strong and active partners, whose strategy, like ours, involves an element of give and take and ‘sharing the ball’. The new system we are launching later this year will also allow clients to book all partner companies directly via visionapartments.com, with the best available prices at all times.”
