Honeymoons are still a very important segment in the core business of the travel agencies in Italy and has not decreased during the economic crisis of the past years.
The magical sunsets, azure seas, lush greenery, and the abundance of tranquility, together create the perfect setting for honeymooners.
All these and more were showcased at the recent Travel in Love workshop held at the historic Palazzo delle Stelline, in the heart of Milan, Italy. It was the ideal location to attract the travel agencies of the city and region.
The workshop was organized by popular trade magazine, Travel Quotidiano, aimed at promoting honeymoons with travel agencies of the area.
From research conducted by the magazine, 69% of the travel agencies’ honeymoons are a very important activity in their business, and the most popular destinations are the United States plus sea extension (57%), and the Far East, Japan, and Indian Ocean (33%).
Seychelles stays among the most popular destinations with its pristine beauty and the possibility to be combined with a safari in Africa or a city stay in the United Arab Emirates.
Among the 20 individuals who took part were some tour operators such as Idee per Viaggiare or Valtur, hotel chains, cruise companies such as MSC and Royal Caribbean, and several tourism boards to promote popular honeymoon destinations.
Seychelles was represented by the Seychelles Tourism Board’s (STB) Regional Manager, Monette Rose, who had the chance to meet the trade and update the agents on the destination and new products. A lot of interest was shown from the trade.
STB’s representative in Italy also took part in a similar event held in Rome earlier last month, which was dedicated to luxury travel and focused on high-end products and destinations.
