The Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BCIHMCT) has been conducting a conference over the past few seven years involving India’s tourism and hospitality industry.

The 7th India International Hotel Travel and Tourism Research Conference (IIHTTRC) was held in Delhi, India, on February 17 and 18. The IIHTTRC series has become a prominent international conference in the field of hotel, travel and tourism.

Some of the ideas that came up during a panel discussion involving senior hotel managers were that hotel management schools should introduce an entrepreneurial development course without waiting for the universities to change a syllabus.

Also, it was noted that there is a need to take care of employee satisfaction, not only guest care. This will lead to employees staying on and being guest friendly, while also providing good service to hotel guests.

Prof. Phillip Xie of Macau University, in his keynote address spoke of the need for creativity and innovation in the hospitality industry.

The conference program included workshops and other industry-related forum as well as formal presentations. Along with the regular presentations, the conference included keynote addresses from eminent speakers from both industry and academia.

The conference attracted many research papers from various institutions.
