Johnny Rohregger, the “King of Travel” as he is known in the tourism and travel world, has come out to endorse Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles candidate for the position of Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). King Johnny, who has worked in the travel and tourism industry since 1968, is now retired, but he still serves as a much-sought-after consultant.

In a letter to Alain St.Ange, the King of Travel writes: “With pleasure I think on the Seychelles which are stuck on your name. You have been and still are the best representative of your country. Charming and positive, you invite the world to visit the islands Seychelles.

“I will never forget the heartiness welcome on Denis Island with the red flower carpet. No wind allowed to blow it away. The friendly laughing faces off your staff who gave a really feeling of welcoming. You continue many more surprises, and I don’t get tired to recommend your Denis Island on my traveling, to friends and ex-clients.”

Kong Johnny goes further to add, “Success and luck; we recommend you on our side.”

Alain St.Ange said that he has known King Johnny for many years, from his own days in the private sector. “I really appreciate him coming out to echo his words of support for the coming UNWTO elections. Johnny Rohregger is well respected in the world of travel and tourism and his support helps get the tourism and travel trade to be better informed on the UN Organization that touches their industry,” said St.Ange.

Alain St.Ange says that he knows that it is the Ministers of Tourism of the countries with a seat on the Executive Council of the UNWTO who will be casting a vote in the May elections, but believing in democracy, it is important to let those who work in the industry and who have a stake in the industry also understand that this election to the highest office in the world of Tourism can and will impact them as well.

“They can echo their feelings as they speak to their own governments about their ideal choice of candidates. This is not a small club, it is the UN body for tourism. I am thankful for this democratic approach of endorsements for the coming election for the seat of Secretary General for the UNWTO by the frontline team of tourism. They have worked with me for tourism, and they know me well. They all remain the motor behind tourism and what makes tourism tick,” said Alain St.Ange.
