The MIXITY Awards are awarded to the best association, educative, event, cultural and sporting initiatives that contribute to the promotion of Brussels as a cosmopolitan and open region. The jury has made its choice.

2017 is placed under the aegis of the flourishing diversity that characterises Brussels.

Many organisations are involved every day to promote diversity and thus make a valuable contribution to Brussels desire for everyone to be able to live together. In order to honour them, a call for projects was launched in May 2016.

Over 200 local associations that created projects between 1st October 2014 and 31st October 2016 submitted their application to one of the four suggested categories. The jury, made up of representatives from Brusselโ€™s associative world and members of visit.brussels then read selected 40 projects (10 projects per category). The latter each receive the sum of 3000 Euros.

The categories:

1. MIXITY TOF EVENT SMALL ASSOCIATIONS
2. MIXITY TOF EVENT MEDIUM AND BIG ASSOCIATIONS
3. MIXITY BEST PRACTICE SMALL ASSOCIATIONS
4. MIXITY BEST PRACTICE MEDIUM AND BIG ASSOCIATIONS

From March 2017, the public will have the opportunity to vote for the event and the process of its choice among the pre-selected initiatives respectively in the categories MIXITY TOF EVENT and MIXITY BEST PRACTICE. Two โ€œpublic prizesโ€ will then be awarded following the on-line vote. At the same time, the jury will independently designate 12 projects nominated for the final phase of the competition. They will be granted the sum of 5000 Euros.

At the end of the competition, the jury will finally designate the 4 winners who will each receive the sum of 10,000 Euros. In total, 6 prizes will therefore be awarded during the official ceremony which will be held in May.
