It’s a tourism magnet and a must-visit place in Berlin. Every visitor to the German capital wants to the see famous “Gedaechniskirche,” also known as Memorial Church, located on the famous shopping street called Kurfuerstendamm. The ongoing Christmas Market outside the church is a place where tourists meet locals and kids enjoy seeing Santa Claus. The travel and tourism industry today suffered another attack. This time it’s the German capital of Berlin and the main Christmas Market.

Tourists from all over the world, and local “Berliners” alike, were enjoying the Christmas Market next to the famous Memorial Church, when a truck attacked.

At least 48 were injured and 12 have been confirmed dead as a result. This reminds one of what happened not too long ago in Nice, France: Terrorists were using a truck as a weapon of mass destruction.

Police have confirmed in a press conference to the German media that the incident is related to terror.

Both the Berliner Zeitung newspaper and the Berliner Morgenpost reported the truck ran into the market outside the landmark Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on Monday evening.

A photo posted by the Morgenpost showed damaged tables and stalls.
