Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, Inc., today announced the opening of Le Méridien Shanghai, Minhang in the Hongqiao Hub of Shanghai.

The hotel marks the third Le Méridien and the 34th property in the Marriott International’s fast growing portfolio in the city of Shanghai. Through the distinctive Le Méridien lens, which highlights cuisine, culture and art, Le Méridien Shanghai, Minhang presents unexpected and engaging experiences to curious-minded travelers.

“As the third Le Méridien destination in Shanghai, this hotel is illustrative of the brand’s robust growth in China over the past several years, hitting its stride with guests and locals as well as owners and developers in the region,” said Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts. “We are thrilled to introduce Le Méridien Shanghai, Minhang and offer another opportunity for global travellers to unlock this dynamic destination.”

Shanghai Hongqiao Unlocked: Tradition Amid Modernity

Conveniently located in the Hongqiao Hub, the hotel affords easy access to both commercial and cultural destinations. From the hotel, a short water taxi ride along the canal leads to historic Qibao Old Town, filled with traditional Chinese architecture and museums. Visitors can also enjoy unique entertainment, including shadow play performances and cricket fighting, while sampling local specialties.

Within a walking distance from the hotel, guests can enjoy tranquil moments at Minhang Culture Park or shop in one of Minhang’s upscale malls, including Powerlong Complex Shopping Mall. Further out, The Bund, Shanghai’s famed waterfront, the storied pedestrian street of Xintiandi, the historic and fashionable French Concession, the artsy Tianzifang area and more await exploration.
