Fans cheer for Indian stars in during Seychelles-India Day

Udit Narayan Jha, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shibani Dandekar, the Raack Academy of Dance, and other top artists enthralled their audience in Seychelles giving the best song and dance performances from India.

The stadium in the Seychelles capital of Victoria was packed on Saturday night, and the atmosphere was boisterous and full of excitement. Fans were cheering as the music stars performed and as popular dance troupes gave spectacular performances.


It was a night of good Indian music, lights, sound, and meeting top artists from this land, whereby appreciation towards the Indian culture was greatly shown.

Among those enjoying the free musical show were the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange; High Commissioner of India, Sanjay Panda; Justice Durai Karunakaran; and Chairperson of the Seychelles Indian Association, Ramu Pillay, among other guests.

The musical show was part of activities to mark this fourth Seychelles-India Day celebrations held from October 14-16. The show is aimed at giving the Indian nationals in Seychelles as well as Seychellois the chance to enjoy performances from top Bollywood musicians and singers.



The mistress of ceremony for the night was Shibani Dandekar, who also performed her hits for the crowd. Apart from singing, she is also well-known for her acting roles and is also a top model. Miss Dandekar started her career as a television anchor in America but later moved back to India.

She is known for hosting famous television shows such as Namaste America, V Desi, and the Asian Variety Show.

Another artist who will graced the evening with his presence was the popular Padma Bushan Udit Narayan Jha. He has sung over 18,000 songs in different languages such as Tamil, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Bengali.

Sunidhi Chauhan, a top Indian female playback singer, who is well-known for her songs in Bollywood, was the last to perform that night.
