AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa is one of the establishments promoting the local flavors and colors of the country’s culture.

The call to put the Seychellois culture at the forefront in its tourism industry has been well responded to by several tourism establishments.

Apart from the recent re-launch of its Bazaar Barbarons, the resort has also added the Kreol Cabaret on its program of cultural activities for its guests.

The first cabaret was held last Friday evening, and gracing the event with their presence were the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange, Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Pillay, Principal Secretary for Tourism Anne Lafortune, Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Francis, and “Miss Seychelles…another world” 2016 Christine Barbier, among other guests.

The Kreol Cabaret is set to be held every last Friday of each month, with Joseph Sinon and his Tanmi group adding a special touch to the night with their Creole songs and great entertainment.

Aside from giving guests a taste of the local music and entertainment, a variety of authentic Creole dishes were prepared for guests to enjoy the local flavors of the Seychelles’ cuisine.

Speaking at the event, Minister St.Ange said it is pleasing to see how the tourism trade sector has understood the call to put Seychelles culture at the forefront and to put it at the center of the tourism industry.

He called on the destination management companies in the country to support this new initiative by encouraging visitors to Seychelles’ shores to enjoy the aspects of the country’s culture being showcased during the cabaret.

The resort’s General Manager, Stephane Vilar, said AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa will continue to promote the Seychellois culture and to incorporate it in the activities organized.
