In his drive to stay connected with the Seychelles Tourism Trade, Alain St.Ange, the island’s Tourism and Culture Minister, is maintaining its visit program to tourism establishments. In his last visits, the Tourism and Culture Minister has saluted the efforts of the private sector for contributing towards the development in the tourism industry and for the unique products and services on offer.

Minister St.Ange echoed these words to operators of tourism establishments on Mahe which he visited last week, accompanied by the Principal Secretary for Tourism, Anne Lafortune, and staff of the Seychelles Tourism Board.

His visit was first in the northern part of Mahe where he stopped at Chez Odet, a small self-catering establishment at Ma Joie owned by a Seychellois, Odet Alcindor. Chez Odet is made up of two modern apartments.

The next stop in the north was at Glacis, where Minister St.Ange met the new General Manager of the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa, Gregory Thieron, who has just taken the leadership of the resort.

Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa has recently added 15 new grand ocean-view pool villas and one presidential pool villa to its grounds, which the ministerial delegation had the chance to visit.

Minister St.Ange said this new addition proves that the tourism industry is on the right track as new investments are being done. “This shows that the private sector has faith in the industry that remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy,” said Minister St.Ange.

The Tourism and Culture Minister reaffirmed the ministryโ€™s commitment in helping the resort to keep succeeding and bettering the Seychelles tourism industry.

In a meeting with the management team of the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort, several points were discussed with the minister and Mrs. Lafortune. One of the issues discussed is the accident which happened a few weeks ago which damaged the wall of the property and almost caused greater damage to one of the villas. Mr. Thieron and his team are awaiting follow-up with the Department of Transport in regards to this issue.

From the north, Minister St.Ange went to the southern part of Mahe to visit the Hillside Retreat at Baie Lazare belonging to Mr. & Mrs. Charles Platt. The two self-catering villas are nestled in the lush greenery of Anse aux Poules Bleu mountainside, offering the best of tranquility and privacy.

Both villas boast a modern dรฉcor concept, blending perfectly well with the flora and fauna of this part of the district. Minister St.Ange said he is impressed with this tourism establishment and saluted the couple for such investment, adding that “you have built a tree-top-styled establishment with an island flavor.”
