KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Sunway Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality division of property-construction conglomerate Sunway Group, today announced Sunway Pyramid Hotel West in Kuala Lumpur’s Sunway City will be re-named Sunway Clio Hotel, effective 1 October 2016.

The 26-storey 4-star hotel, built within an integrated development in Sunway City with a gross development cost of RM380 million, opened its doors earlier this year on 19 February 2016. The re-naming which will officially take effect on 1 October 2016 will be applied to all communication and booking channels, external signage and operational items.

Sunway Clio Hotel features 401 superior rooms with a choice of two room types – Superior and Superior Executive Rooms; with options of having unimpeded views of Sunway Lagoon theme park or the city’s skyline. Guestrooms reflect fresh details and textures with a contemporary functional design concept for a comfortable and fuss-free stay; whether as individuals, families, or groups. An infinity-edge swimming pool located on the upper floor of the hotel offers arguably the most panoramic views of Sunway City skyline.

Sunway Clio Hotel complements the existing cluster of hotels in Sunway City, namely the 5-star flagship Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa and the soon-to-be-opened 4-star Sunway Pyramid Hotel (formerly known as Sunway Pyramid Hotel East). The re-naming to Sunway Clio Hotel allows the hotels within the integrated development to further differentiate and scale-up its distinct, individual identities and offerings; while at the same time retaining the iconic Egyptian-inspired architectural elements and characteristics of the 800-acre integrated destination.
