WASHINGTON, DC – The Federal Aviation Administration is now accepting job applications from people with previous air traffic control experience. The FAA will accept the applications from Sept. 7 through Sept. 20, 2016.

Experienced air traffic controllers include eligible military air traffic controllers and others with air traffic controller certification.


The job vacancy announcement for the position of Air Traffic Control Specialist is now available on USAJobs.gov, the federal governmentโ€™s official online job site. The job vacancy announcement provides the details about eligibility and the required qualifications. The FAA encourages applicants to ensure they meet all criteria before beginning the online application process.

Candidates must have 52 weeks of full-time air traffic control experience and air traffic certification or an air traffic control facility rating in a civilian or military air traffic control facility. More than 14,000 air traffic controllers work for the FAA.
