The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is strongly advising passengers not to turn on or charge their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones when onboard aircraft and not to stow them in any checked baggage as well. The cell phone has been recalled by Samsung.
Samsung itself has raised concerns about this device model, due to incidents that recently occurred.
The Galaxy Note 7 batteries keep exploding, with over 35 incidents that have been confirmed by Samsung as it has issued a global recall. The company has identified that the batteries made by Samsung SDI are causing these explosions and issued a world-wide recall all 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 units that went out to retail partners and consumers.
According to Samsung, the battery cell can overheat, causing it to explode.
