DAVAO CITY, Philippines – At least 25 people were reported killed and over 60 wounded when a blast ripped through a night market area in Davao City late Friday evening.

Davao Police spokeswoman said that explosive and ordnance division teams were already in the area looking for pieces of evidence.

President Rodrigo Duterte, the former mayor of the city, was already at the site of the blast, according to Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella. Duterte was in the city after attending an event at nearby Panabo City on Friday.

The explosion has prompted the administration of Ateneo de Davao University to impose a lockdown on the campus, which is across the street from the night market.
