The Archaeology Department in Bagan reported that among the more than 2,200 pagodas in Bagan, a total of 185 pagodas were damaged by the earthquake, Sulamani being one of the most affected.

To date there is no reports about any major damage in building infrastructure but the assessment of the situation is still being carried out. As a safety precaution, it is not possible to climb on the famous sunset temples until further notice.
