Our planet is shaking. After a major earthquake in Europe and the Pacific Ocean, a strong 6.8 earthquake just hit Chauk in Myanmar. The town of 90,870 population is the 5th biggest city in Magway. The city is a river port in the Magway region, north-central Myanmar, on the Irrawaddy River. It is located across the river from Seikpy.

The area is usually not on many tourist routes, however, the quake was felt as far as Bangkok and shook lights in major department stores in the Thai capital.

The earthquake has the potential to have more than 100 loss of lives and millions in damages. At this time it’s not known if any losses occurred.

Tremors were mainly felt in the northeastern part of the country, also in West Bengal and Bihar. It caused panic in some parts of India.
