Latest report say more than 70 people died tonight in Nice. Rumors of a terror background instead of an accident are still unconfirmed.


Some witnesses have reported hearing gunshots in Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, where a vehicle reportedly just crashed into a Bastille Day crowd. Witnesses said that the white truck drove into the celebration crowd. There were fireworks happening in the area at the time of the crash so it’s not clear if shots were fired.

Witnesses in Nice told eTN on the phone, that panicking event-goers were desperately trying to escape the chaos that was unfolding at Promedade des Anglais, with some of them knocking on the doors of the nearby houses and apartment buildings, looking for shelter.

In the meantime local reports say several people died in the incident.

Another eTN reader called from a restaurant nearby the incident and said ambulances are everywhere and there is a lot of blood.



Regional officials ask people to stay inside after incident, and the police set up barriers around Promenade des Anglais, while there were fatalities reported after the truck crash.
