Granada is the most affordable summer destination in Spain for finding accommodation, according to a survey conducted by TravelMag.com. The survey compared the cost of hotels across 40 popular destinations for the months of July and August.
For each location, the survey assessed average nightly rates for the cheapest available double room during these peak summer months. Only hotels rated at least three stars and situated close to the city center or beach were considered for the survey.
With an average rate of only โฌ36 euros for a double room, no other destination offers the same affordability as the city of Granada, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalucรญa. The next most affordable destination, according to the survey, is Zaragoza, the capital of north eastern Spain’s Aragon region, with an average rate of โฌ39 euros.
At the other end of the scale, San Sebastian came out as the most expensive summer destination with an average rate of โฌ152 euros. Similarly pricy are Peniscola, Ibiza and Santander, with average rates of โฌ142, โฌ144 and โฌ152 euros, respectively, for the most affordable double room.
