Liverpool John Lennon Airport creates unique flight search engine

LIVERPOOL, England – Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has launched a unique feature for its website.

LIVERPOOL, England – Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has launched a unique feature for its website. From today, passengers can access a fully bespoke Skyscanner flight search engine application within its site, helping passengers to find the lowest priced air fares on flights departing from Liverpool.

Liverpool is the first airport to build and launch a website based flight search service using the Skyscanner API, which connects LJLA passengers to Skyscannerโ€™s award-winning flight comparison data.

Skyscanner is an award winning global travel search engine that compares flights for over 50 million people each month, helping passengers to find the cheapest deal, fast. Whether passengers want to go to Alicante or Amsterdam, New York or Newquay, booking via Skyscanner on the LJLA website will save passengers the hassle of finding out which airlines serve each destination from Liverpool and then hunting for the best prices from each. Skyscanner does this for passengers automatically, searching all flights from Liverpool to find the best prices available.

The bespoke flight search feature is powered by Skyscannerโ€™s dedicated B2B arm, Skyscanner for Business, a suite of products that is helping to power the travel internet.

LJLA launched its new more user friendly website earlier this year and this latest development is a further commitment to improving the customer experience by helping passengers take advantage of flying from Liverpool, with simple access to the lowest air fares available.

Sarah Barrett, Marketing Director for Liverpool John Lennon Airport who has lead the customer transformation for LJLA said, โ€œOur Faster, Easier, Friendlier benefits run across all aspects of the passenger experience, including how we engage with our customers to make booking the lowest priced flights from Liverpool as simple as possible via our website.

By being the first Airport to work with Skyscanner in this way, this is another example of our innovative approach towards creating the Airport our region loves.โ€

Mike Ferguson, Senior Commercial Manager at Skyscanner commented, โ€œWe are pleased to be able to partner with Liverpool John Lennon Airport to offer our powerful flight search data to the airportโ€™s passengers. Skyscannerโ€™s comprehensive global results means we are able to offer LJLA passengers a solution that makes travel planning and booking as easy as possible.โ€
