Today, and on every day of the year, an average of 85 major trade shows take place in the economic centers of the world. A subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, one of the largest event organizers in the world, Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd., has introduced some of these world-renowned trade fairs to India while constantly implementing newer strategies to fortify buyer-seller engagement and creating more globalized platforms.

From a small office within the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce in Mumbai to a workforce of over 100 employees managing 22 prestigious B2B trade fairs in India, Messe Frankfurt has established itself as a formidable player within the Indian exhibition industry over the last decade.

The Indian subsidiary introduced a number of famed international events in the country like ACMA Automechanika New Delhi, Ambiente India, Heimtextil India, Techtextil India, Light India, SPS Automation India, Control India, Motek India and Secutech India, which are renowned in their respective sectors. The growth continued with the acquisition of Automotive Engineering Show, LED Expo, Media Expo and more recently the Indian International Elevators and Escalators Expo. The company is now venturing into the building technology segment and has announced the launch of Electrical Building Technology India and ISH India powered by IPA this year.

Further strengthening its market position as a trade fair and conference organiser, Messe Frankfurt India in a strategic alliance acquired Cerebral Business Research, the leading conferences company with a portfolio of highly specialised conferences. The acquisition in 2015 expanded Messe Frankfurt’s conference portfolio giving the company rights to organise and manage the 30 conferences in the field of telecoms, oil & gas, infrastructure, transport and logistics and other niche sectors both in India and abroad.

Along with the ambitious growth plans, Messe Frankfurt India is also committed to promoting development of environment technology across all business verticals through its environment expositions – Watertech India, Wastetech India & Cleantech India and the International Conference on Industrial/Municipal Waste Water Treatment and Solid Waste Management.

Strong backing from the associations and the various ministries in India and the steadily growing proportion of foreign exhibitors have also been some of the strongest factors of its business strategy in the last decade. Having had the privilege to work and associate with some of the most prominent industry associations and government bodies in India, Mr Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding Ltd., stated, “Understanding the pulse of the Indian market, Messe Frankfurt India has continuously challenged itself to deliver meaningful trade platforms and the cooperation and support from the Indian trade bodies and associations have been instrumental in our growth story.”

Redefining the contours of trade platforms in India, many initiatives and enhancements are planned for Messe Frankfurt’s flagship events in India in the near future. The company’s strong growth metrics represent the efficiency and profitability of its business platforms and its dedication to provide rich trade fair experiences.
