For this Vietnamese national Minh Quang Pham was sentenced to 40 years in US prison for conspiring to commit a suicide bombing.

According to U.S. court documents, 33-year-old Pham, who also used the alias Amin, traveled from London to Yemen in 2010 to receive training from al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) leader Anwar al-Awlaki, who also gave Pham the instruction to carry out the attack.


When he was arrested at Heathrow airport LHR in 2011, UK authorities found Pham to be in possession of electronic media documenting his time in Yemen and a live round of armor-piercing ammunition.

Pham pleaded guilty in January to providing material support to AQAP, conspiring to receive military training from the terrorist group and to possessing a machine gun.

Pham will be extradited to the United Kingdom after he finishes is prison sentence in the United States of America.
