Guangdong and Seychelles officials meet to discuss tourism

An official delegation from Guangdong, China, and the World Bank met with the Honorable Alain St.Ange, Minister of Tourism and Culture, recently at the ESPACE Building in Victoria, Seychelles.

An official delegation from Guangdong, China, and the World Bank met with the Honorable Alain St.Ange, Minister of Tourism and Culture, recently at the ESPACE Building in Victoria, Seychelles.

The Guangdong Provincial Finance Department and a number of other delegates from the business world accompanied Alex Sienaert, the Senior Country Economist for Mauritius and Seychelles, to meet with Minister Alain St.Ange in the Seychelles capital of Victoria. The high-powered Chinese delegation included the Director of the Guangdong Provincial Office for World Bank Projects, the Chairman of HK Rising Investment Development Limited, and Shenzhen Grandsun Electronics Company among others who discussed tourism and the importance of that industry for the islands with the Seychelles Minister. The special attributes that makes the Seychelles different as a holiday destination was also discussed.


Air Access was also discussed as well as the number of Chinese visitors landing currently in Seychelles. The delegation used the meeting to invite Minister Alain St.Ange to the September China-Africa Investment Forum in Guangdong which will be held this year from September 7-9.
