On Sunday, April 24, members of top carnival delegations such as Brazil, Notting Hill Roadshow carnival, China, Germany, and Italy will be on Praslin.

The Seychelles Tourism Board, in collaboration with its partners, is pleased to announce that members of some international delegations taking part in this yearโ€™s Carnaval International de Victoria will be on Praslin island this coming weekend.

They will be at the La Pirogue restaurant located at Cote dโ€™Or from 10:30 to 1:00 pm whereby members of the public will get the chance to meet the top carnivals of the world that have flocked down to Seychelles for the 2016 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria. For some 2 hours, the Notting Hill steel band will be playing live as carnival delegations will be mixing with the Praslinois and offer the possibility for photos.

It is the first time that carnival delegations will travel to another island of the Seychelles. Members of the public will be able to take photos with the carnival performers, who will be dressed in their colorful carnival costumes.

With their Alice in Wonderland theme, the Italian delegation will also be heading to Praslin set to bring added cheer to the children there.

The sixth Carnaval International de Victoria is set to be held on April 22-24. The 3-day carnival will officially open on Friday, April 22, and the curtains will be drawn on April 24, just after the Kiddies Carnival.

The Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange; Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Naiken; and members of the international press who are in the country to cover the 3-day event in Victoria, will all be at Cote dโ€™Or to join in the carnival with the people of Praslin.

“We heard the appeal of the Praslinois hoteliers, and we heard the call by so many Praslinois, and we are doing that by taking representatives to you in Praslin. We need to thank Creole Travel Services and Cat Cocos for their support and La Pirogue restaurant for providing the venue. This trip is for Praslin and La Digue, and we hope you will all enjoy it,” said Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture.
