Pegasus Airlines has announced its traffic figures for March 2016 to Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). Pegasus carried 5.36 million guests in the first quarter of 2016, a rise of 18.6% on the year before. Pegasus’ load factor was 76.1% in the first quarter and the airline operated a total of 38,249 flights during this period.

In the first quarter of 2016, Pegasus reported a 21.5% increase in guest numbers on domestic routes in Turkey to reach a total of 3.48 million; and a 13.7% increase in guests flying on international routes to reach a total of 1.88 million. In March alone, the airline carried 1.18 million guests on domestic routes in Turkey and 630,000 on international routes; a combined total of 1.81 million guests.


Pegasus recorded a daily average of 12 block hours between January and March 2016, translating to a 3.9% year-on-year increase in aircraft utilization for the same period. In the first quarter of 2016 Pegasus Airlines has also added Jordan’s capital, Amman, and Azerbaijan’s Gabala to its expanding network, increasing its number of destinations to 33 in Turkey and 70 in the rest of the world, bringing its total network to 103 destinations in 41 countries.
