Seychelles High Commissioner receives Diplomat of the Year award

The eighth annual awards ceremony of the Tata DIPLOMAT magazine recognizes the outstanding work and achievements of London’s diplomatic community who are trying to better their nations’ well-being, and H.E. Marie Pierre Lloyd of Seychelles was named the 2016 Diplomat of the Year from Africa.


Marie-Pierre Lloyd, the Seychelles High Commissioner accredited to the Court of St. James in London, was honored in the presence of ambassadors, high commissioners, and diplomats from over 100 countries who attended the Tata DIPLOMAT magazine 2016 annual Awards Ceremony in the ballroom at The Langham, London hotel, on Monday, April 11. Ten awards were presented to influential diplomats based in the United Kingdom.

DIPLOMAT’s Editor, Venetia de Blocq van Kuffeler, said: “This is an award ceremony for diplomats, with the award winners voted for by diplomats – the only one of its kind in the world. This evening is not about politics or policies. It’s about people and professionalism.”

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
