To celebrate Global Meetings Industry Day, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) President and CEO, William Talbert, posed at the construction site of the Miami Beach Convention Center alongside the Clark Construction team working on the renovation and expansion of the existing building.

The GMCVB partnered with leaders from across the meetings and events industry to mark this special day and commemorate the real impact that meetings and events have on business, economies and communities.

The $600 million investment for the Miami Beach Convention Center is part of Miami and the Beaches meetings and conventions renaissance as the destination embarks on a series of new infrastructure enhancements which include a new 1,700 room Marriott in Downtown Miami, the new Brickell City Center which is home to the EAST Hotel (the first outside of Asia) as well as 13 new hotels calling Miami home in the last year.

The Miami Beach Convention Center is the anchor to Greater Miami’s meetings and conventions industry which generates an economic impact of more than $2 billion to the destination. The future Miami Beach Convention Center is scheduled to open in 2018
