SINGAPORE – The 12th Asia Boating Awards organised by Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines were presented during a luxurious gala at ONE°15 Marina Club, Singapore on the opening night of the Singapore Yacht Show (April 7-10).

“We handed out 25 Asia Boating Awards — the most ever — in Singapore this year. I congratulate all of the winners, as well as the several hundred nominees. These brands, builders, yacht clubs, marinas, companies and people from the region and around the world are working very hard to meet the needs of the growing number of boaters in Asia Pacific,” says Glen Watson, Editor-in-Chief of Asia-Pacific Boating magazine.

The prestigious Asia Boating Awards were presented in 25 categories, showcasing Asian builders and international brands, as well as Asian regattas and marinas. This year, nomination criteria have been refined and categories streamlined for each award, we have also opened up four new categories that include the Best Multihull Motor Yacht, Best Multihull Sailing Yacht, Best Asian Yacht Refit and Best Asian Boat Show due to popular demand and industry trends.

“This year, the four new categories give us the opportunity to look deep into the boat shows, catamarans and refit boat market. There are a lot of new nominees in the list this time and the competition for the awards is keen. The 2016 Asia Boating Awards in Singapore was an exciting night of celebration with all the nominees and winners who put in so much effort throughout the year,” says China Boating Editor-In-Chief Samuel Xu.

The list of nominees came from online polling of Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating readers, with the winners determined by a panel of judges selected for their expertise as well as their ability to make informed, impartial decisions.
