BERLIN, Germany – Effective as of April 15th, 2016, Oliver Lackmann will take over the role as Managing Director of the Austrian airline NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH, following Thomas Suritsch, who will leave the company for health reasons.


Captain Oliver Lackmann served as Chief Flight Operations Officer and Accountable Manager of airberlin during recent years, and was responsible for flight operations, crew planning and training, as well as Operations Compliance & Safety Management and Aviation Security Management. He has been with airberlin since 2001, including 11 years as a captain, and currently flies the Airbus A320 / A330.

Thomas Suritsch was previously Vice President Crew Operations within airberlin and significantly improved productivity.
