JetBlue grows in Long Beach

NEW YORK, NY – JetBlue, the largest carrier at Long Beach Airport (LGB), today announced it is increasing the number of destinations and flights at its Southern California focus city.

NEW YORK, NY – JetBlue, the largest carrier at Long Beach Airport (LGB), today announced it is increasing the number of destinations and flights at its Southern California focus city. The growth is made possible due to the recent award of three new slots as well as increased utilization of JetBlueโ€™s existing slots. JetBlue will now serve a dozen destinations nonstop from Long Beach.

โ€œSince JetBlue first came to town in 2001, when LGB had little commercial service, Long Beach has been the cornerstone of JetBlueโ€™s success and growing route map in the western U.S.,โ€ said Dave Clark, vice president network planning at JetBlue. โ€œWith its convenient and unique open-air terminal and easy access to many Southern California communities and attractions, Long Beach is a top choice for JetBlue travelers. Weโ€™re thrilled to offer our customers here even more convenience and options with new service and new flights.โ€

New Nevada Nonstop

New nonstop service to Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) will begin August 15, 2016. Reno becomes the twelfth city served nonstop at Long Beach.

The new route will provide a convenient link between Southern California and Renoโ€™s attractions and growing business climate, as well as the surrounding mountains, lakes and ski resorts the region is known for. The new route will also build on JetBlueโ€™s success in โ€œThe Biggest Little City in the Worldโ€ where the airline first launched service last spring with flights to New York (JFK), the only nonstop route to the east coast from Reno-Tahoe.
