“The Seychelles has always been a very important and key market for Emirates since launching services 10 years ago,” said Minister Alain St.Ange commenting on a meeting held between Seychelles Tourism and Emirates airline.

At the ITB Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin, Thierry Antinori, the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, and a group of the Airlines senior management met Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, at their Emirates stand. Minister St.Ange was accompanied at that meeting by Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Tourism Board; Bernadette Willemin, the island’s Director for Europe who is based in France; and Edith Hunzinger, the Board Director for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The meeting was the opportunity to review the points covered in the MOU that exists between the Seychelles and Emirates, and also to see how Emirates can help push Seychelles as a tourism destination through their different country offices across the world. “We appreciated the meeting, as it gave us the opportunity to discuss renewed drive in our tourism source markets with the aim to increase bookings to Seychelles. We discussed the new INSIDE SEYCHELLES newspaper, and we were happy to get the support from Emirates to get the newspaper at Dubai Airport and on flights to and from Seychelles,” said Minister St.Ange.

“Our double daily Boeing 777 flights between the islands and Dubai is a demonstration of our commitment to the market, and we are very pleased that our joint efforts in promoting the Seychelles are producing concrete results,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.

“Emirates is able to offer convenient connections for travelers from 39 points in Europe, 10 in India, and soon 5 in China, as well as many more in the Middle East and Asia, to the Seychelles via our modern hub Dubai. This, along with our superior product offering on the route, from private suites in First Class to lie-flat seats in Business Class, spacious seats in Economy Class, and award-winning entertainment and hospitality on board, enables us to offer our customers a compelling value proposition and contribute to the growth of tourism to the island,” Mr. Antinori added.
