ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – The UAE is no stranger to breaking world records, and on Sunday, the Emirates did it yet again.

With as many as 3,929 participants, the UAE has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for having the biggest flag to be formed by humans.

Thatโ€™s 1,159 more people than the previous record holder of Turkey, which saw 2,770 people form a human flag in Istanbul in 2015.

The world breaking event took place at Al Shamkha area of Abu Dhabi that coincided with the 2016 International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR) taking place this week, the state news agency WAM reported.

In a statement, Maj Gen Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Deputy Chairman of ISNR 2016, said that participants had to wear red, green, white, red and black safety helmets, as they lined up across the Baniyas Club Stadium.

โ€œThe flag represents an image of loyalty and belonging to the nation and the leadership. It is a picture that signifies a human message reflecting the keenness of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) to maintain the security and safety of the society,” said Maj Gen Al Raisi.
