Reunion Island Tourism heading for ITB Berlin

The world’s largest tourism fair and the leading exhibition for tourism professionals in Europe and the world, ITB hosts this year more than 10,000 exhibitors coming from 180 countries.

The world’s largest tourism fair and the leading exhibition for tourism professionals in Europe and the world, ITB hosts this year more than 10,000 exhibitors coming from 180 countries. Some 180,000 visitors are expected during this leading exhibition which lists exhaustively the international tourism destinations, and Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) will be there.

Germany is the second most important European market for destination Reunion Island after mainland France. The International Tourism Exchange Fair (ITB) is held in Berlin from March 9-13, and is largely considered as the most important fair of the tourism industry internationally. It represents an excellent opportunity for Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) to promote the destination with professionals and also the general public.

The IRT, aware of the impact of both economic and media with a presence at ITB, will represent destination Reunion Island at stand 132 with an area of 110 mยฒ in Hall 20, which is dedicated to the Indian Ocean area. Together with the IRT, 20 co-exhibitors composed of local tourism professionals will be present in Berlin: The hotel establishments Akoya Hotel & Spa; Blue Margouillat Seaview Hotel; Diana Dea Lodge & Spa; Le Nautile Beach & the Juliette Dodu; the Tsilaosa; Lodge Roche Tamarin & Spa; the Palm Hotel & Spa & Iloha Seaview Hotel; the Relais de l’Hermitage; St. Alexis Hotel & Spa; the Swalibo; Villa Delisle Hotel & Spa; Cรดtรฉ Sun Hotels group; the group Exsel Authentic Hotels; the Club Reunion Hotels (UMIH); incoming agencies Anthurium Connections Meeting, Mille Tours, Tours Papangue, Summertimes, and the island’s home airline, Air Austral.

For the IRT, the presence of Reunion Island at ITB Berlin focuses on several objectives:

1. Increasing the recognition and visibility of the island

2. Sustaining existing relationships with tourism professionals and developing new contacts

3. Presenting new attractions and new partners on the ground

4. Finalizing the marketing action plan established for the year 2016

The doors of the ITB will be open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. From March 9-11, 2016, trade visitors will have the opportunity to discover the products and meet the exhibitors of Reunion Island. The days of March 12 and 13, 2016 will also allow the public to walk through the aisles to meet tourism professionals from Reunion Island.

A NETWORKING EVENT TO ATTRACT INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONALS

On Thursday, March 10, invited guests and trade relations will have the opportunity to meeting Reunion Island Tourism professionals during a cocktail party at the stand of the IRT.

This networking event will be an opportunity to expand IRTโ€™s customer B2B base, and also to promote the destination with these influencers in a relaxed atmosphere.
